Singapore Impressions

Singapore…Where you find the hotels from world’s most exclusive and expensive hotel chains, where locals speak english, where buildings are tall and houses are luxurious, where Louis Vuitton store looks like a museum, where locals meet up in groups for doing sports, where streets are clean, where one can not buy chewing gum, where prices are high and where people smile…

I spend three and a half amazing days in Singapore, wandering around its modern clean streets, enjoying amazing Indian food in Little India and chilling in garden. Here are my photo impressions from Singapore.

Some practical info:

Budget accommodation Shophouses Hostel at the Arab Street is a great option for ‘budget’ accommodation in Singapore. For 20 Singaporean dollars you get a comfortable bed in 16-bed dorm. And this is one of the cheapest option I found. Amazing atmosphere, very friendly and helpful stuff (allowed me to store my backpack over night, while I went back to Malaysia to get Indonesian visa), central location, clean and cozy. Aldo great place to meet travelers.

Midrange accommodation Wanderlust Hotel, somewhat not budget at all, but an amazing design hotel in the heart of little India. Friendly stuff, amazing room and corporate design, comfortable beds and tasty breakfast.

Transportation Singapore public transportation is very easy and good, can basically bring you everywhere. I have been traveling a lot with busses, the fair is around 2 SGD (1,2€), plus / minus couple cents. But be ready to invest more time during rush hours, as it a traffic jam time. Underground system called MRT is also very convenient and widely spread.
